Who we are and what we're doing

The Young People’s Enterprise Forum (YPEF) is a regionally-based group of private and public organisations, all involved in promoting enterprise amongst young people.

The YPEF has a mission to build a culture which values, promotes and nurtures enterprise among young people in an inclusive manner. The YPEF remit incorporates enterprise education at all levels, community activity and the transition into self-employment and business start-ups.

The YPEF is a strategic body which, by being fully aware of activities and developments in the field, can add value using existing resources.

The key elements of the YPEF role are:

  • to identify and fill gaps in provision
  • to promote best practice
  • to improve information flow
  • to champion enterprise activity
  • and, through all of these actions, reduce duplication.

YPEF’s role is to be the informed point of contact within the region and the region’s voice in wider debate. The YPEF will take the lead on regional, pan-regional and national issues as appropriate.

The YPEF will achieve its aims by supporting, enabling and influencing the work of Members to add value to the implementation and development of activity across the enterprise agenda.
